Program Details:

To be eligible for a superintendent's license, candidates must have three years of experience in a position requiring a Principal or Administrative Specialist license.

This 18-24 credit on-line cohort program is designed to prepare future superintendents for leadership in the 21st century. The cohort will feature the latest research and theory combined with real practice as taught by both scholars and practitioners.

All coursework will be offered on-line to accommodate the busy schedule of educational professional.

Admission Requirements:

The superintendent license requires three years of experience in a position requiring a Principal or Administrative Specialist license. The license requires 18 hours (proposed) of prescribed coursework. The student may wish to enroll in the Ed.S. degree program which requires a masters plus 30 hours and is an additional advanced degree.

Under an Ed.S. program the student would receive the license and an advanced degree with 36 hours of overlapping course work. The superintendent license coursework includes a field experience as part of the 18 required hours. This license permits the holder to serve in any preK-12 administrative position with the exception of School Treasurer.
