Comparative and International Education Society
The Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) was established in 1956 to promote cross-cultural understanding, scholarship, academic achievement and societal development through the international study of educational ideas, systems, and practices. The Society's members include more than 2000 academics, practitioners, and students from around the world. Gerald H. REad was one of the founders of CIES. Archives of CIES are housed at Kent State University.

World Council of Comparative Education Societies
World Council of Comparative Education Societies ( WCCES) is an international organisation of comparative education societies worldwide and is an NGO in Operational Relations with UNESCO. WCCES was created in 1970 to advance the field of comparative education. Gerald Read was one of the founders of CIES. Archives of CIES are housed at Kent State University.
