Get Ready for 2009 INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK!
November 16th-20th

International Education Week is a joint initiative of the Department of Education and the Department of State, highlighting the important benefits of international education and international exchanges in the U.S. and around the World. Each year, the International Education Week events promote classroom activities and materials focused on international subjects and our international counterparts. CIIE sponsors many activities during this week here at Kent State University.
Schedule for the International Education Week
Sunday, Nov. 15:
Phillip Wang’s Global tourism students host international students for a pizza party and Kent State Flash Basketball game in the presidential loge.
ALL WEEK , Nov. 16-20: 213 White Hall
Food for Thought cafe on will feature international food specials all week. Did you know that their coffee is always fair trade coffee?
MONDAY: Italian - Pesto Pasta, Zupa Toscana
TUESDAY: Middle Eastern - Lentil salad, Tabouli
WEDNESDAY: European - Pierogies and cabbage
THURSDAY: Asian - Sesame noodles and egg rolls

The Read Center’s Ten Thousand Villages Festival for Study Abroad Scholarships opens daily, 10:00-5:00, Thursday also 5:00-7:00 p.m. Grand opening ceremonies Monday at 10:00.

Dr. Linda Davis, Vice President at the College of The Bahamas, will deliver a Gerald H. Read Lecture, “Understanding the Global Context of Educational Leadership.”
Friday, Nov. 20, 11:30-1:30, Moulton Hall Ballroom:
Dr. Wayne Munson, former head of Exercise Sport and Leisure, will present Friluftsliv: The Basis of Norwegian Culture, a celebration of Norwegian music and food to close International Week.
