Application Information

Deadline: Applications for advanced standing for ADED are due by 2nd Friday of Spring semester each year for those wishing to begin advanced study in the fall of that year. For example, if you want to begin your final two years of ADED coursework in Fall 2009 then you will want to apply for advanced standing by the second Friday of spring semester 2009.

If you have any questions about your eligibility for advanced standing or whether or not it is the right time to apply, please schedule an appointment with a program counselor in the Vacca Office of Student Services, 304 White Hall. You can use this link Office of Student Services WebSite to go to their website to schedule an appointment.

If you are concerned about the timing of your remaining content courses, please see your faculty advisor (e.g. Dr. Donnelly for sciences, Dr. Mikusa for mathematics education, Dr. Crowe or Dr. Brooks for INSS, or Dr. Bruce or Dr. Kist for INLA).

About the interview

What happens at the interview?

  • The interviews will be about 15 minutes in duration with faculty from the program. At least one person will be from your specific licensure area (INSS, Mathematics Education, Science Education, INLA)
  • We will ask you questions that helps us gauge your communication skills, your interest in and dedication to the subject matter, the age group, and the profession, your knowledge of the subject matter, and your openhandedness, flexibility, and responsibility.
