How to Defrag your Computer

What does it mean to Defrag my computer? Disk Defragmenter consolidates fragmented files and folders on your computer's hard disk, so that each occupies a single, contiguous space on the volume. As a result, your system can gain access to your files and folders and save new ones more efficiently. By consolidating your files and folders, Disk Defragmenter also consolidates the volume's free space, making it less likely that new files will be fragmented.

So, what does that mean? Image that your computer is a giant closet. Inside this closet are hats, coats, shoes, boots for every season. Over a period of time, this closet becomes unorganized and we can no longer easily find the right jacket or two matching shoes. So, we "clean and re-organize" the closet to make it more efficient every time we return. This is very analogous to the process of defragging your computer and it will help your computer operate more efficiently.
